Thanks for the feedback. How big is your SD card? Also, regardless of how big your SD card is you will need to expand it as the default space allocated to the partition from the imaged file is 2GB. Expanding the file system will allow this to fill the entire card. See this KB article: https://openrepeater.com/knowledgebase/topic/expanding-the-file-system

I’ve split this off into a new topic as it seems unrelate to the topic you commented on.

What files are you trying to modify? The files that generate the config file have no bearing on being able to log in. The worst that would happen is you would get a PHP white screen when you click to regenerate the config files (button that appears at top of UI). If you are having issues logging into the Web UI it is either a unrelated issued or files were modified that shouldn’t have been modified. I would need more background to point you in the right direction.

If you have any success getting the DMK-URI working (including the COS and PTT) let me know as it would be an interface that would be nice to include. I just don’t have one at my disposal.

That is vary similar to what we were trying to build into this prototype design: https://openrepeater.com/blog/a-sneak-peak-at-the-future-of-openrepeater

It has an on board sound codec chip but we were having issues with the driver working correctly during testing. The USB cards have been the most reliable options so far. Juan has built a similar interface, less the sound chip and with some other bells and whistles. Once we can get someone to debug and thoroughly test a chip set we can revisit that board.

    Great thought though.

I am working on a module frame work for the Web GUI, So if it is supported by SVXLink, it shouldn’t be much more work to build the framework for those modules.

Hello, sorry to hear that you are having issues. It may be that it is not detecting your USB sound card directly. Firstly, I would try to test the sound card in a know good environment like Windows or Mac. Make sure that you can both record and play back audio from the device. Secondly, there is a chance your sound card could be not fully supported. Maybe try a “lsusb” command from the command line (via SSH) and see if it give you an indication of the chipset. I know that CM108 seems to work fine. Also from SSH try checking the “alsamixer” and make sure that the levels are set correctly for your sound card. The wizard does rely on session variables and javascript so if those are disabled in your browser for some reason, that could cause problems also. Hope that helps and best of luck.

Glad to hear they are working. Thanks for your patience. I am hoping to work on refining the additional ports in the UI soon. I started some work on it a while back but have been overwhelmed with day-to-day work. So once things slow down again, I will be back at it.

    Greetings Frans,
Yes we don’t have serial built in yet. My goal is primarily to keep UI straight forward and simple. While SVXLink supports numerous configurations it makes sense for ORP to start with the most common and build out from there centered around the concept of the SMC type device like the RPI. It takes a good bit of coding to add in some seemly simple features when they are UI driven.

Of course you are familiar with SVXLink already so you can certainly modify ORP to your needs. See this KB articles for starting points: https://openrepeater.com/knowledgebase/topic/custom-svxlink-configuration

    Hope that helps some.

Greetings Peter and thanks for your support. Yes, I have been keeping an eye on the ever evolving digital voice modes. I think there DV is still in it’s early stages and unfortunately there are so many competing standards right now and no one can seem to agree on a standard. So, part of it is just waiting to see how things shape up.

There is also another project shaping up called MMDVM that promises to support DMR, DStar and C4FM (System Fusion). At some point I would like to see if we could adapt this project into ORP.

The main focus for ORP is the ease of use. Features will be added as we can implement a UI for them and do so in a straight forward and sensible manner. That’s the big picture anyways.

Your comments are certainly welcome and appreciated.

SVXLink core has support for the but it is not built into ORP yet because of UI complexities.

Check out http://svxlink.sourceforge.net/man/man1/remotetrx.1.html and you can certainly hack your ORP install to your liking.

    Hope that helps.

Yeah I did a little bit of testing with my SignaLink with the results above. The sound card part works fine, it’s just the built in vox circuit that its goofy. It could probably would, but the SignaLink would probably need modified to disable the vox circuit.

Yeah I would like to see some pictures when you are done. I’ve been thinking of starting a user photo gallery for people to share there work. Just haven’t gotten there yet.
