Sounds good. I just shot you an email. Richard is also working on a simplified interface design.

Have you checked with the knowledge base on the site and see if any of that offers any help. Are you using a mouse and keyboard or are you trying to SSH into it from another computer? Without some linux command line know how, there might be a bit of a learning curve, but will try to help as best as I can.

Juan did the initial design of the SVXLink board which will work with SVXLink or ORP. I know the schematic is available, but I don’t know that the board CAD files are. I know Richard is prototyping another board with a simpler design and less components. I have seen a picture of it, but haven’t had the opportunity to talk to him about it or test it in greater detail. Ready made hardware is still in the early days, it is sort of a experimentation and proving period. Time and demand will dictate the board design evolution. It would certainly be nice to have a premade board option available where it can just be purchase and wire it up and go.

I am out of town right now. I might have to do some looking. I don’t have a physical board in my possession so I might have to check with Juan.

    Hello Chris,
An thanks for your support and your suggestions. I can always come back here and see what is documented when I am working on improvements. There are some complexities and security concerns when interfacing a web gui which could be made public facing with the OS. So attention has to be give to do it right which is why it is not in there yet, but I have had similar thoughts. I have been talking about making a help shell script that I can use to pass specific commands to from the GUI to reduce the risk of vulnerabilities.

There is a knowledge base article that discusses how set the timezone. The knowledge base could use some refinements, it just comes down to a mater of time. If you see things that you think are missing, let me know. If you wish to be a contributor and help with documentation, that would also be appreciated.

Hope that is of some help and I will keep you suggestions in mind. Thanks.

Only the NIC is supported by default. If you want use WIFI you must manually configure this yourself. Ethernet is a much more stable option and is easier to configure with a static IP to access the Web GUI and SSH. If you want enable WIFI on the Raspberry Pi 3 you will need to modify the /etc/network/interfaces file as well as setup the wpa-supplicant file with the correct login information.

You will want to SSH into your board (via ethernet connection)

I cannot tell you exactly how to configure your setup but these guides should point you in the right direction:

Actually if you are using the current release 1.1.0 then you should simply be able to enable this. I was thinking that I might have removed it, but it doesn’t look like I did. I don’t have access to my development board with a 1.1.0 version on it. I am looking at my code on GitHub for version 1.1.0. Looks like I do have a check box on the Settings page to enable the Parrot module. It is disabled by default. This enables the setting in the database, and one you rebuild and restart it should be available to you. Check the DTMF page for the command and you can also use the help module if enable. Hope that helps.
