The image now sucessfully writes to the SD in the correct format. However the Pi still does not boot.
The error code given from the Pi indicates that kernel.img is not found.
I know this is still beta, so I’m not expecting miracles 😉

Looks like Chrome works, however the disk images writes to the SD card as a single EXT4 partition. For the Raspberry Pi this is incorrect. It requires a FAT partition for the boot section.

Yep, Chrome appears to work. Correct file size is now reported.

I can confirm I am also having this issue, I’ve download the image archive from the site but it’s corrupted.
I’m running Linux as my host system.
Writing the image to SD card results in a Pi that won’t boot.
