    the documented password for user “root” is “OpenRepeater”
    This fails

    I’ve substituted “admin” and “pi” for the username, with ungood results.

    I’ve tried all three usernames with all-lowercase “openrepeater” with ungood results.

    For those unfamiliar with RPi, there’s a way to recover lost passwords:
    //
    Insert the card in your SD card reader;
    Edit the file “cmdline.txt” and append “init=/bin/sh”;
    The Rpi will boot in single user mode;
    Insert the card in the RPi again and boot up;
    When prompt available, enter “su” to log as root (with no password);
    //

    However, this fails “/bin/sh: 0: can’t access tty; job control turned off” appears in the boot time dmesg.

    suggestions on how to get to a point where I can reset the root password?

    Perhaps another documented non-root username to try?

    Thanks!
    Joe

    Also this is not build on Raspbian. It is built on Debian Jessie which is why you don’t get the expect RPI functions.
