Only the NIC is supported by default. If you want use WIFI you must manually configure this yourself. Ethernet is a much more stable option and is easier to configure with a static IP to access the Web GUI and SSH. If you want enable WIFI on the Raspberry Pi 3 you will need to modify the /etc/network/interfaces file as well as setup the wpa-supplicant file with the correct login information.
You will want to SSH into your board (via ethernet connection)

I cannot tell you exactly how to configure your setup but these guides should point you in the right direction:

did you ever get your Wifi to work?
If so, what did you have to do?
No I have not messed with the Wifi, as I use the Ethernet plus it is more stable in an RF environment. The instructions I previously posted should point you in the right direction.
